Engineering Apprentice Trainer

Location – Coventry (On site 5 days a week)

Salary – Up to £42,000

We are looking for industry professionals or qualified Trainers/Lecturers across these disciplines;

  • - Mechanical Maintenance & Assembly
  • - Mechanical Fluid Power
  • - Electronics

This role is open to both qualified trainers as well as those currently working in the industry looking to make the step into a training role. For those coming from industry, full training and qualifications will be provided.

The Role:

We're looking for an Apprentice Trainer to help teach and guide apprentices in practical and theoretical skills, focusing on various Engineering disciplines depending on your bias. Your role will include delivering high-quality training, meeting awarding body standards, and supporting learners across various topics to ensure they have a smooth learning experience.

What you'll be doing:

  • Delivering subjects aligned with individual competencies, with an emphasis on electrical knowledge and practical skills.
  • Supporting the delivery of Level 2 & 3 programs depending on your bias, fostering independent learning and helping apprentices progress towards completing their Level 3 apprenticeships.
  • Depending on your highest qualification – some HNC/D delivery may also be expected.
  • Managing physical learning resources and teaching spaces to ensure learners receive training and assessment within guided learning hours.
  • Creating and developing apprenticeship trailblazers’ schemes-of-work and integrating relevant training offers from industry partners.
  • Monitoring the learning environment to ensure workplace health, safety, and welfare in collaboration with the DSL.
  • Ensuring the timely progress of all learners towards completing their apprenticeships, tailoring support to individual needs.

What do you need:

  • High level of engineering knowledge, preferably from several years of industrial experience.
  • Experience in best practices within key competencies such as Electrical or Mechanical installation.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in teaching methodologies.

Essential Requirements:

  • Industry-related qualifications – with a minimum of a Level 3 Apprenticeship or NVQ/C&G.
  • Functional Skills Level 2 / GCSEs in Maths and English grade C or above.

Would be great if you have these, but they're not essential:

  • CAVA or equivalent assessor qualifications.
  • Recognized Training/Teaching Qualification.
  • HNC/HND and/or Engineering Degree
  • Internal Quality Assurance qualifications.
