Job Description

OPERATIONS MANAGER – UK BRANCH


JOB PURPOSE

To use all resources available to ensure the Don’t Waste System is functioning effectively and efficiently both internally and at client sites, to maximise system value from a client perspective. Provide the highest quality customer service across Don’t Waste System and waste brokerage offerings.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Pre-setup survey and site setup.
  • Site training, Company system mobilisation, and implementation.
  • Mobilisation of new accounts – complete paperwork, pre-mobilisation meeting with all stakeholders, and relevant training.
  • Ensure site set up is correct – weekly liaison with stakeholders to ensure high service levels and resolve immediate issues.
  • Client management – respond promptly to client requests and complaints, client engagement to drive waste strategy, quarterly meetings, change implementation, client support.
  • Ensure system usage is maximised to its potential by clients and support improvements when this is not the case.
  • Supply Chain Management - resolve any site-based issues raised by a service provide, service provider vetting, monitoring of service levels, complete annual duty of care audits for the company’s service provider portfolio, periodic review of service providers offerings, new solutions/offering and current collection coverage, build relationships with new service providers.
  • Day-to-day operations and reporting - assist with any escalated issues from the operations service centre, communication with clients and service providers, update CRM system, review and approve monthly, quarterly and annual reports, client follow up meetings etc.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Relevant degree within the environmental sustainability, waste management, and circular economy sectors
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to work independently on your own initiative
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the UK
  • Proven ability to use MS Office packages including Excel and PowerPoint


NOTES

  • The position is full time.
  • Previous experience within the waste management industry as well as analytical knowledge and report writing would be advantageous.
  • Comfort multi-tasking and working cross-functionally with different departments would be ideal.
