Job Description

As a Senior Buyer, you will be responsible for the procurement and supply chain, purchasing process, including selecting suppliers, negotiating the best price, making purchases, ensuring stock optimization, and providing guidance on sourcing and procurement processes.

Responsibilities

  • Negotiate with key suppliers to improve pricing and stock holding terms, among other things.
  • Meet Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to optimize warehouse space and ensure that our top A category items are always in stock.
  • Identify, manage, and mitigate risks in the supply chain.
  • Discover and capitalize on opportunities within the supply chain.
  • Coordinate necessary product specification revisions and deviations with suppliers as required.
  • Ensure system accuracy, including lead times, pricing, supplier information, and purchase order data.
  • Source new suppliers, assessing risks, and managing the item change process.
  • Collaborate with senior management on stock/non-stock items.
  • Assist other departments in resolving problems related to purchase orders, delivered quantity, quality, and price discrepancies.
  • Review and adjust demand forecasts for inventory items, purchasing systems, and reporting tools.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and assist in achieving yearly cost reduction targets set by the Finance Director.
  • Work closely with the Marketing team to forecast future demand levels.
  • Manage and lead the team with a positive approach, including effective one-to-one meetings and maintaining high performance standards.
  • Embrace and promote company values within the team.
  • Represent the company professionally and contribute to building the reputation of our products.
  • Delivering competitive advantage to the business through development and implementation of sourcing strategies for particular categories.
  • Work cross-culturally with suppliers throughout the world.

Qualifications and experience:

  • Qualification of purchasing negotiation
  • Supply chain certification (CSCP, CPIM, CFPIM)
  • Five years plus experience in a similar role
