Based at Capenhurst location, you’ll plan and deliver a full spectrum of strategic communications activities to protect and enhance Urenco’s reputation at the Capenhurst site, locally, regionally and nationally.

The role will include creating engaging and audience-led communications and content, with a focus on storytelling for a range of stakeholders. Supporting the Capenhurst site and its staff, the successful candidate will be required to attend site management team meetings, give professional guidance and engage with the local community and media.

What will your day look like?

  • Develop creative and engaging internal communication strategies, establishing two-way and face-to-face communication channels where possible to build employee engagement, particularly during organisational change.
  • Local stakeholder and community engagement providing a service of two-way dialogue with key local stakeholder audiences.
  • Undertaking and sometimes managing crisis communications at a local level under the direction of Head Office as required by the Group policy.
  • Sourcing and crafting stories to generate proactive local media engagement.
  • Deliver internal strategic communications activity, including deploying resources and managing risks. Support managers to ensure they are confident in delivering key messages and assist managers in the delivery of messages when appropriate and necessary.
  • Deliver the evaluation approach to ensure all communication activity is insight-led. Analyse the evidence to assess the effectiveness of communication and identify lessons learned.

What do you need to be great at this role?

  • Experience of working in a corporate strategic communications role.
  • Proven track record of delivering strategic communication campaigns that are audience-led, outcome focussed and based on data and insight
  • Clear understanding of the importance of reputation to an organisation.
  • Clear understanding of the importance of building and maintaining relationships.
  • Clear and concise writing skills with a focus on storytelling and Plain English.
  • Experience of using digital communication channels in a professional environment.
  • Proven high quality proof reader with excellent attention to detail
  • Demonstrate a wide range of writing techniques (including press releases, articles, speeches, briefing notes etc.)

What can you expect from us?

We reward your contribution with industry-leading pay – and that's just the start.

An exceptional range of physical and mental wellbeing, financial, and lifestyle benefits flex around the things you find most important in life. Like the idea of travelling overseas? We can make that happen too. And our annual global awards bring us together to celebrate our outstanding work achievements.

We’re well aware that being the best company possible starts with helping you become the best you can be in your career.

We’re also committed to helping you achieve work-life balance. So you can count on us to deliver the personal development resources you need to gain new qualifications, learn new skills, and open new possibilities.

  • Annual leave starting at 25 days, which increases by one day for every two years of service up to a maximum of 30 days. In addition, you will be able to accrue 13 additional days off to be used flexibly.
  • A diverse range of family friendly policies.
  • A generous bonus scheme.
  • A defined contribution pension scheme; with up to 16% employer’s contribution.
  • Flexible benefits package; including life assurance and income protection. In addition, you’ll have an opportunity to purchase additional benefits that suit your lifestyle and take advantage of tax and NI savings.
  • Education and training; we take pride in helping people learn and develop by supporting, accelerating and directing your learning. As well as the completion of mandatory health and safety courses, training packages will be offered to meet your specific needs.
