Japanese Language Teacher to Adults

International House London is currently seeking experienced and enthusiastic Japanese teachers to join our growing Foreign Languages team. The role primarily involves teaching adults on our weekend face-to-face courses in Covent Garden. This is an excellent opportunity for qualified and passionate individuals to contribute to our vibrant and multicultural learning environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver high-quality Japanese language lessons to adult learners.
  • Create engaging and effective lesson materials and activities.
  • Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive learning atmosphere in the classroom.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure the smooth running of courses and maintain consistent teaching standards.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development activities.

Essential

  • Proficient Japanese speaker
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Initial Japanese teaching qualification
  • Minimum of 2 years teaching experience to groups
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Must have the right to work in the UK and be currently based in the UK

Desirable

  • 420-hour Japanese language teacher training course or equivalent Japanese teacher training course
  • QTS
  • Bachelor's Degree in Japanese Language Education
  • Japanese Language Teaching Competency Test
  • Possess a CLTA, CELTA, Trinity TESOL, DELTA
  • Experience in teaching in-company and one-to-one courses

Working Hours:

This is a part-time position. Classes take place over the weekend on Saturday mornings online and on Sunday mornings face-to-face.
