Job Summary

Our underwriting team is central to our operations and success. Our work environment is demanding, but this is an exciting and dynamic opportunity for the right candidate. This role involves assisting in the underwriting process for transportation insurance with a focus on risk assessment and policy management.

This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, contributing significantly to the company's success in the insurance and reinsurance industry.

This is an in-person opportunity for our London office (not remote).


Responsibilities

·      Assisting in the underwriting process for transportation insurance

·      Evaluating risk profiles

·      Preparing underwriting reports

·      Liaising with clients and brokers

·      Maintaining underwriting records

·      Organizing meetings

·      Handling correspondence

·      Maintaining files

·      Assisting in the preparation of reports and presentations.

·      Perform other related duties as assigned and as dictated by the business needs of the company.


Requirements

·      2-3 years of underwriting experience. No degree is required.

·      Proven experience in underwriting

·      Strong analytical skills

·      Excellent communication skills

·      Knowledge of transportation insurance market trends

·      Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, OneNote, etc.)

·      Strong interpersonal and teamwork ability.

·      Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

·      Excellent time management skills with an ability to meet deadlines.

·      Ability to prioritize tasks and report issues/updates up the chain of command.

·      Ambitious and keen to learn and to drive career forward within the company.

·      Develop and maintain an awareness of the insurance markets we deal with

·      Ability to see trends within a lot of data/paperwork

Hours: Monday – Friday, 9 am – 5 pm (with one hour for lunch) or as business otherwise dictates.

Salary: Competitive depending on experience
