MRC Global is seeking a talented Power BI Developer to join our team to help unlock the operating performance of the International business, operating in 13 countries globally across Europe, the Middle East and Asia Pacific.


As our Power BI Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining business intelligence solutions to support data-driven decision-making across the organization.


You will re-establish and maintain governance over our reporting; establishing a set of key reports for the International Leadership Team and the wider business to provide key insights.


The ideal candidate will have strong skills in DAX and SQL, as well as experience with SAP Hana/s4 data models. Knowledge and understanding of ELT processes and tools are required.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop interactive and visually appealing Power BI reports and dashboards
  • Write complex Data Analysis Expressions to create measures, calculated columns, and tables
  • Develop and optimize SQL queries for data extraction and manipulation
  • Integrate data from various sources, including SAP business systems, to create comprehensive data models
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions
  • Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and security in all reporting solutions
  • Provide training and support to end-users on Power BI tools and features


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience as a Power BI Developer or similar role
  • Strong proficiency in DAX and SQL
  • Experience with SAP business systems and understanding of data relationships
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills


Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with other BI tools and technologies
  • Experience with web application development. ASPX / react / java
  • Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms and DataLake technology.
