A specialist Automotive company are seeking to recruit a Quality Engineer to work on a contract based in Nuneaton that is initially scheduled for 6 months.

The Role

This position will involve investigate and resolve operational quality concerns, control current quality assurance procedures, and implement new procedures as required.

This will include involvement in day-to-day operations of vehicle and component manufacture, working closely with Assembly, Machine shop and Paint Shop departments.

The Engineer will support the manufacturing areas when quality concerns arise, carrying out root cause analysis of concerns, offering short term solutions to enable continued manufacturing without compromise to quality and long term solutions through escalation to external suppliers or internally.

Other key responsibilities will include the creation and implementation of audits for new models, including final product audits, assembly torque audits and vehicle packing audits.

Experience within a Manufacturing Engineering role with exposure to a wide range of production processes related to component manufacture will be needed.

Experience

Ideal candidates will be experienced Quality Engineers with an Automotive background and experience in the following areas:

  • Manufacturing areas Quality support.
  • Identify and resolve concern within manufacturing areas.
  • Liaising with global manufacturing teams to report, review and resolve manufacturing issues which are common within the business.
  • Component screening, sorting and re-working.
  • Actively investigate and drive through component / manufacturing improvements as required.
  • Ensure established best practice is adhered to within manufacturing areas.
  • Assist with implementing new best practice within manufacturing areas through department strategy and standardisation of working practices.
  • Introducing new / updating existing departmental work instructions as required.
  • Raising corrective action reports.
  • Review and creation of technical reports.
  • Creation of vehicle audits within the assembly manufacturing area.
  • Auditing of fully assembled vehicles and packed vehicles with comprehensive reporting of concerns observed.
  • Assist in new model Approval to Despatch process, including assembly torque audits, assembly process audits and homologation audits.
  • Liaising with external Suppliers and Internal departments including, Purchasing, Design and Manufacturing teams.
  • Creation of ISIR requirements for internally manufactured components.
  • Review and approve engineering drawings.
  • Review and approve design change notes.
