Salary Scale:

  • £40,815.81 - Unqualified Manager (holds QCF Level 3/4 qualification)
  • £47,586.00 - Registered Manager (experienced and holds QCF Level 5 qualification)

Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Manager to oversee the operations and care provision at our children's home. As the Registered Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the home operates efficiently, adheres to all regulatory standards, and provides a nurturing and safe environment for children in our care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Management and Leadership: Provide strong leadership and direction to staff, promoting a positive and inclusive culture within the home.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the home meets all statutory and regulatory requirements, including Ofsted regulations and Children's Home Standards.
  • Care Planning and Provision: Oversee the development and implementation of care plans tailored to each child's needs, ensuring their emotional, physical, and educational needs are met.
  • Staff Recruitment and Development: Recruit, train, and supervise a skilled team of care professionals, fostering continuous professional development and high standards of care.
  • Budget Management: Manage the home's budget effectively, ensuring resources are allocated appropriately to meet the needs of the children.
  • Quality Assurance: Implement robust quality assurance processes to monitor and enhance the quality of care and support provided.
  • Interagency Collaboration: Build and maintain effective relationships with external agencies, local authorities, and stakeholders involved in the care of children.
  • Safeguarding: Maintain a strong focus on safeguarding and child protection, ensuring all staff are trained and vigilant in identifying and responding to safeguarding concerns.
  • Record Keeping: Ensure accurate and timely record keeping, including care plans, risk assessments, and incident reports.
  • Promotion of Children Rights: Advocate for the rights and best interests of the children in our care, empowering them to participate in decisions affecting their lives.

Requirements:

  • Registered Manager with relevant qualifications ( NVQ Level 5 in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare) and experience working in a managerial capacity within a children residential setting.
  • Thorough understanding of relevant legislation, regulations, and standards pertaining to children residential care.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children, staff, families, and external agencies.
  • Commitment to promoting the welfare and development of children and young people.
  • Ability to work under pressure and make sound decisions in challenging situations.
  • IT literate, with proficiency in using relevant software for record keeping and reporting.
