Job Description

Bank Surgical First Assistant - Theatre Nurse – Springfield Hospital – Bank Hours

The role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and highly motivated SFA Nurse at Springfield Hospital. Our Theatre Department is extremely busy, working with Consultants from a wide range of clinical disciplines, including orthopaedics. You must be registered in the UK with your professional body and able to demonstrate current Theatre experience with the ability to work under pressure. Shifts included early mornings, evenings and weekends.

At Ramsay Health Care UK, we know our people are our most important asset. Join our Theatre department as a Surgical First Assistant Nurse and support on our journey of ‘people caring for people’. You’ll have the best facilities – many of our theatres have laminar airflow systems and state of the art integrated theatre technology.

Like us, you have a can-do attitude, and you’re committed to delivering the highest quality clinical outcomes in a supported environment, where you will be valued for your skills and expertise.

What you’ll bring with you

  • NMC or HCPC registration with no restrictions or conditions
  • SFA Qualification
  • Experience of working with Scrubbing in Theatres
  • Recovery experience
  • ALS would be desirable, but not essential
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently
  • Flexible and positive attitude
  • A warm, considerate and empathetic character
  • Strong communication skills
  • Passion to deliver excellent care in a rewarding and what can be emotionally challenging environment

Where you’ll be based

Springfield Hospital opened in 1987 and is one of Essex’s leading private hospitals. It is a 64-bedded hospital all with en suite facilities, with parent and child rooms, a 14-bed Day unit and a high dependency unit.

What we give back to you

  • Competitive hourly rates plus enhancements
  • Free DBS
  • Contributory pension scheme
  • Excellent training and development opportunities
  • Free parking and subsidised staff restaurant (subject to site facilities)
  • Free uniform
  • Access to Blue Light Card
