We are looking for a Workshop Manager / Marine Engineer to join at marine engineering company located in Brixham, to oversee our workshop operations and ensure the efficient maintenance and repair of marine vessels and equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in marine engineering and proven leadership skills to manage a team of skilled technicians.
Duties and responsibilities of the Workshop Manager / Marine Engineer:
Oversee day-to-day operations of the workshop, ensuring all activities are conducted safely and efficiently. Develop and implement maintenance schedules for all marine vessels and equipment. Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies. Lead, manage, and motivate a team of marine technicians and engineers. Conduct performance evaluations and provide training and development opportunities. Perform diagnostic, maintenance, and repair tasks on a variety of marine engines and systems. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to propulsion systems, auxiliary systems, and other marine equipment. Ensure all repair and maintenance work meets the highest quality standards. Liaise with customers to understand their needs and provide technical advice and solutions. Prepare and present detailed reports on maintenance activities and project progress. Manage inventory levels of spare parts and equipment, ensuring timely procurement and availability.: Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, work orders, and equipment histories. Ensure compliance with all relevant documentation and certification requirements.Qualifications and requirement for the Workshop Manager / Marine Engineer:
Level 3 NVQ minimum in marine engineering or a related field Strong technical knowledge of marine engines, propulsion systems, and auxiliary equipment Excellent leadership and team management skills. Knowledge of HSEQ policies and procedures. Must be able to travel to Brixham Hold a Full UK Drivers License
