What is the role?
An exciting opportunity has become available to join our highly skilled and versatile management team. You will have responsibility for the day to day management of the garage area, ensuring punctual delivery of tractors to the customer as per the schedule. You will also and ensure the efficient operation of the garage in terms of cost, quality and labour performance.
Some of the key responsibilities include:
Ensure workstation readiness and relevant training based on new product launch requirements
Ensure performance of garage is tracked and monitored.
Ensure Manufacturing Index is in line with forecasts.
Ensure scrap is in line with budgets and ensure action plans are implemented to resolve and stop re-occurrence.
Ensuring sufficient and cost-effective labour requirements and training
Liaise with relevant departments to ensure OKTS targets are met according to the required quality and safety standards.
Managing and reducing costs and expenses
Continuously improving the processes in the garage and maintaining the work standards
Ensuring that quality checks and procedures are adhered to
Full Responsibility for ensuring the following have been carried out in line with company policies and procedures: team meetings/briefings, grievances, staff development
All technical / Material quality issues affecting team performance should be analysed and resolved
Ensuring World Class Housekeeping - House keeping to be carried out to 5S (Process to keep a clean environment) standard
Resolving and preventing health and safety issues
Reviewing and developing quality evaluation procedures, liaising with Engineering and internal/external suppliers as appropriate and initiating corrective actions
Determines standardised work as the basis for continuous improvements
Carry out Engineering Change Orders (ECO)
Managing Trade Union relationships and activities
What we're looking for:
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing or a similar environment.
Management and/or supervisory experience of a minimum of 3 years
Possess excellent interpersonal and leadership skills, ability to develop and coach members within team.
Be an excellent communicator and team player, but also able to lead a team to success against agreed targets
Demonstrate fact-based decision making and problem solving skills
Encourage open and honest communication and demonstrate personal integrity

Engineering or relevant degree desired but not essential
