Job Title: Associate (Mid-Senior) - Competition
My client is a distinguished law firm known for its excellence across various legal specialties, including competition law. Renowned for their innovative strategies and dedication to client success, they maintains a leading position in the legal industry.
Overview: My client is seeking an enterprising Associate with extensive UK and EU competition law experience to join their Competition team (2 Associates, 1 Trainee and Competition Partner). The ideal candidate will be passionate about leading on cases and driving forward business development initiatives.
The role offers an opportunity to work on a wide range of competition matters, including merger control, cartel investigations, compliance, market studies, and state aid. Additionally, an interest in or experience with CMA consumer protection cases is highly valued as we aim to expand this area of their practice.
Main Responsibilities:
- Prepare and draft competition documentation accurately and concisely
- Conduct legal research using internal and external resources
- Assist in preparing legal articles
- Liaise with clients under partner supervision
- Develop internal and external networks
- Attend business development and profile-raising events
Attributes/Skills Required:
- EEA qualified desirable
- Qualified Lawyer (ideally UK qualified) with circa 3-5 PQE in Competition
- Strong grasp of fundamental and up-to-date legal knowledge
- Self-starter comfortable working independently and in a team
- Commercially aware
- Excellent academic and professional qualifications
