Lead DevOps Engineer - AWS, Terraform, Bash, Kubernetes

Crewe – Hybrid 3 days per week

Applause IT are looking for a Lead DevOps Engineer to join a global software house organisation who develop innovative solutions for our clients aimed at providing top-tier sustainable mobility, connectivity, and technology services. They offer a comprehensive range of products and services tailored to fulfil their customers' requirements.

The Lead DevOps Engineer assumes a crucial role within the organization. The infrastructure team is responsible for deploying, overseeing, and administering the IT Infrastructure necessary to support Radius' applications, services, and end users. As a member of this team, the individual will have a significant impact on supporting, maintaining, and improving the IT environments of the group.

The ideal Lead DevOps Engineer will have:

  • Extensive expertise in AWS Services such as EC2, ECS, EKS, Lambda, VPC, Route53, S3, RDS, and CloudWatch.
  • Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code, particularly with Terraform and AWS CloudFormation.
  • Hands-on experience with Kubernetes/Docker or similar container technologies.
  • Strong scripting skills in Python and Bash.
  • Thorough understanding of Linux and database technologies, including Ubuntu, Apache, PHP, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Nginx, Mercurial, and Git.
  • Proven track record in planning and executing system integrations and cloud migrations.
  • Experience working in multidisciplinary teams, specializing in AWS and Linux technologies.
  • Collaboration with software development teams to support and advise on best practices for maintaining performance and availability.
  • Understanding of Service Management disciplines, preferably with experience in the ITIL framework.
