This is a new and pivotal Fibre Test Engineer role, offering the chance to join a rapidly growing organisation and thrive in a creative, collaborative environment. You’ll play a key role in bringing next-generation products to market while advancing your career within a secure, high-growth company.


What you’ll do:


  • Develop and refine optical test methods to characterise and qualify new optical fibre products.
  • Support the transition of optimised manufacturing processes from development to production.
  • Perform fusion splicing, mechanical and laser cleaving, fibre tapering, and thermal diffusion.
  • Conduct qualification testing to ensure product reliability.
  • Collaborate closely with design, process, and manufacturing teams.


Who you are:


  • You have a Degree/Master’s in Engineering, Optical Science, Physics, or a related field, with experience in fibre characterisation or fibre component manufacturing.
  • You possess practical knowledge of fusion splicing, cleaving, and tapering technologies.
  • You’re proficient with test equipment, data recording, and computer-based systems.
  • Ideally, you have experience with LabView software and Python.
  • You’re skilled in Microsoft Office and have strong English communication skills, both technical and conversational.
  • You thrive in a team, are adaptable, and embrace challenges.

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 09:00-17:30, on-site
