Are you looking for a new opportunity? If so, then we have a great opening for an Electrical Apprentice to join Turnbull and work on Europe's largest civil engineering project at Hinkley Point C.

Applications are welcome from both new apprenticeship seekers, and learners currently undergoing an electrical apprenticeship.
What you'll do

The main part of your job will be:

Reporting to the Electrical Supervisor, the Electrical Apprentice will learn to provide efficient electrical installation, maintenance, fault finding, diagnosis, and repair of NNB Generation Company's utility assets including potable supply network, water management network, sewerage network, sewage treatment assets, and communications. Aim to maintain 100% environmental permit compliance, zero serious pollution incidents, within contract budget, and with adherence to set KPIs.
  • Provide installation, maintenance, and repair functions for the electrical assets for the dewatering network, treatment, and all associated assets serving Hinkley Point C
  • Maximise all controllable factors to meet external quality targets
  • Be responsible for your actions to ensure relevant KPI and SLA targets are achieved
  • Promote a culture of awareness to improve safety and reduce accidents/incidents protecting the workforce from injury and the company from prosecution
  • Support improvements in team productivity to make the most of resources and be able to show value to the client
  • Ensure good liaison with NNB stakeholders - Site Operations, Environmental, Security, Construction Delivery Leads, and Site Engineers, promoting a consistent approach, technical advice, and swift resolution of any identified problems
  • Learning to provide an electrical operate and maintain service alongside the existing team.
  • Learn develop and maintain high standards of health and safety at all times.
  • Look to follow best practice and always maintain the company values.
What you'll need

To be successful, you'll need:
  • To undergo NVQ apprenticeship.
  • Able to show capacity to work as part of a large Electrical Team
  • Develop knowledge of understanding in water and waste treatment
  • Develop effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • A willingness to follow Nuclear Site Safety, Behaviour, and Cultural expectations.

Apprenticeship Course Information

Duration

Three years plus end point assessment.

Qualifications
  • Installation Electrician and Maintenance Electrician
  • Advanced Diploma in Electrical Installation
  • Achievement Measurement 2 (AM2)

Training provision
  • Training will be delivered by Weston College.
  • One to two days per week at college, depending on previous qualifications and experience.
