The following information provides an overview of the skills, qualities, and qualifications needed for this role.

Following a successful merger, the organisation are looking to create a new QA Automation Team which will support each key area as well as work with a 3rd party supplier for augmented QA support in the future.

We are looking for a Lead / Manager that comes from a hands on background (and doesnt mind getting involved in hands on at a high level).

You will be responsible for:

  • Recruitment, mentoring and leading a new QA team
  • Creating a culture that promotes testing
  • Hands on automated testing using a variety of tools
  • Creating and improving processes and standards in test across the organisation
  • Selecting and working with a 3rd party test services supplier

Key skills and experience required:

  • Extensive automation testing experience (Selenium, JUnit, C# etc)
  • Exposure to security and performance testing
  • Excellent stakeholder management and engagement, you will need to be comfortable being business facing in this role
  • Experience of creating new strategies and processes with demonstrable experience of successful implementation and delivery
  • Experience of being a lead or a manager of a test team / function
  • Having worked in a regulated financial services or insurance environment is highly advantageous

The role is paying circa £55,000 to £65,000 (dependant on experience) plus bonus and excellent benefits including at 15% pension contribution (market leading for a private sector role)

It will be based from their newly refurbished central Newcastle office and will operate a hybrid working policy of 2 days per week in the office.
