Job IntroductionWe are looking for:   As part of our expansion, we are seeking a Principal Scientist / Associate Director Biology to become an integral part of the drug discovery teams and expand Pharmaron’ s Drug Discovery Services Biology capabilities. At Pharmaron we offer:Vibrant and dynamic employment – we are a highly specialised, growth company operating in a critical sector of the economy – our future is strong and excitingOpportunities to develop your skills and yourself – our rapid growth brings greater opportunities for you to learn and grow fasterA great team where we all support each other – enjoy your work – after all you spend about a third of your time hereRequirements:Multi-year experience in a world-class small molecule drug discovery organisation.Leadership of in vitro Biology strategy for small molecule drug discovery programs, preferably with demonstrable delivery of Candidate molecules.Outstanding knowledge of Biological sciences gained through working within a drug discovery environment across multiple target classes.Knowledge of toxicology, DMPK and chemical concepts relevant to decision making and drug design.Up-to-date knowledge of in vitro biological assays and associated quantitative analysis.Work across geographies and cultures.B.Sc. degree or Ph.D. degree in the area of Pharmacology or Biological Sciences, or equivalent industrial experience obtained in a world-class small molecule drug discovery organisation.Key roles and responsibilities: Lead, design and deliver the biology strategy for small molecule drug discovery projects from hit finding through to candidate selection.Provide scientific and technical leadership to develop assays to address key project questions, such as mechanism of action and biological differentiation.Interpret results and integrate with data from other disciplines, such as building relationships between in vitro and in vivo data sets, to drive projects forward and generate timely key decision-making data. Apply innovative problem solving across the Pharmaron Drug Discovery Services Europe (PDDSE) projects.Work collaboratively with Pharmaron platforms and partner teams, regularly present biology plans, data and achievements to external partners and internal project team members.Critically develop biology plans and proposals for new projects, working with partners to implement them successfully.Our Company: “We are a dynamic, fast-growing company, with an enviable reputation for leading edge science, offering contract research services to some of the world’s leading pharmaceutical companies, solving what were believed to be unsolvable scientific challenges”.We believe in our ability to relentlessly push forward the boundaries of scientific excellence, delivering solutions for our clients, always operating ethically and with integrity.
