Operations Manager

MJM Contract Services are a multi-disciplinary Main Contractor, offering a turn key solution to a variety of clients and sectors. They operate nationally and have a diverse customer base, including infrastructure, industrial, commercial and education, with typical packages ranging between £100,000 and £2,500,000 in value.
As part of our planned expansion and increasing client base, a new appointment for an Operations Manager has been created. You will be responsible for managing a team of Project Managers, working closely with the sales and commercial team, you will help to coordinate the operational delivery of projects, overseeing the process from project award, liaising with the in-house trades as well as our supply chain to deliver projects for our esteemed client base. Ensuring deadlines are met or exceeded and projects are delivered on time and any delays or disruptions are kept to an absolute minimum. You will also be the lead on Health & Safety and keep up to date with the latest legislation, professional development and training for all reporting personnel.
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the Operations Manager will be involved in the oversight of delivery of projects from contract award to handover. You will be the point of contact for clients and suppliers, and will develop and maintain these relationships.
In addition to the operational management duties, you will be commercially minded, analysing costs and value engineering to ensure budgets are maintained and any profits (GP) will form the basis of a highly rewarding incentive scheme.
It is likely this person will have gained prior exposure in the Construction Industry, working in a Project Management, Contracts Management or Operations function on commercial fit out projects, where you have had the contractor/subcontractor interface.
You will be well organised, a strong communicator and computer literate in usage of all Microsoft packages, in particular the use of Excel and Outlook.
