2nd/3rd Line Support Engineer

Chessington, Surrey- 4/5 days per week on-site

Contract - up to £300pd INSIDE IR35


I am currently recruiting on behalf of a leading Pharmaceutical and Supply Chain organization for a Desktop Support Agent to join them on a contractual basis


We need a Service Desk Agent to start over the next couple of weeks. This is a 3-month initial contract but is likely to be extended 6-12 months.


The organisation is located in Chessington, Surrey. They’d like you to be onsite 5 days a week initially which can come down to 4 days once you have your feet under the table a bit.


Essentially, we are seeking a Second/Third Line Support Agent to be the interface between the Healthcare business and the IT department. To take ownership, logs & coordinate all computer hardware & software-related queries & requests from the group. Where possible will answer queries directly, or coordinate the incident/problem determination and resolution with other teams and communicate status updates back to the originating user.


The candidate will perform a broad range of technical and professional work activities in the area of logging and resolving technical issues with laptops, PCs, and handheld devices.


This role isn't suitable if you're currently doing 1st line with a bit of 2nd line, there will be a tech assessment as part of the process.


To be considered for this role, you will have:

  • Knowledge of Windows technologies
  • Understanding of ITIL processes
  • Good interpersonal skills and are well organised and practical with a logical, analytical approach to problem-solving. Pays careful, close attention to detail.
  • Has good oral communication skills and takes an analytical approach to problem-solving.
  • Possesses a basic knowledge of IS and knowledge of several generic desktop software tools and, where applicable, deeper knowledge of at least one software application


The organisation is no longer working with Limited Companies and so you’d be required to work via an Umbrella Company- we currently have a PSL in place
