Location: Watton
Salary: 30-32K

Technique Recruitment Solutions are a specialist engineering recruitment company based in Norfolk. We are proud to be working on behalf of a globally renowned designer and manufacturer of electric process heating and control systems.
A new opportunity has arisen for a Continuous Improvement Engineer to join a successful and dynamic team and business.

Duties/Responsibilities:
Identifying opportunities to improve processes and methods of manufactured components and finished goods. Maintain standard work instructions in relation to routing templates
Identifying opportunities for flexibility/de-skilling of operations and value engineering of products work closely with management. Documentation/ logging of opportunities, costing justifications for priority and then make ready for tasking, change development, implementation and training support
Implementing new processes and methods supporting them with Standard Operating Process/ Methods (SOPs). Providing training where necessary.
Establish testing/Inspection processes/procedures and use cost of quality reporting rework/scrap/waste reporting by reason. Compile customer related issues that need ratification after final acceptance test, work closely with the quality/planning engineer.
Validation of production routings/timings/item control, and support/resource for the implementation of policy changes. Be actively involved in cost of sales meetings.
Control all data and information in relation to discrepancy lists and punch lists.
Initiating Engineering Change Notes (ECN) and develop a procedure to reduce non-conformance.
Control of ECN Register and reporting.
Review, investigate and develop improvements from data driven by the efficiency reports.
Review performance of each section and develop a mechanism to report on daily progress to the supervisors.
Provide a daily summary on efficiency to the head of production.
Provide a weekly summary on efficiency to the operations manager.
Provide cover as requested for shop floor supervision.

Key goals:
Upgrading Routing/timings structure in relation to new procedures/rules, and their management. Take ownership of production routings, and audit data integrity/accuracy
Development of Standard methods/ processes, work Instructions into a controlled document Standards Operations Processes (SOPs) manual for use in training staff and creating a skill matrix and development plan.
Define action plans from data provided on material standards & usage/price standards for variance reporting.
Support the continuous improvement process and culture with the production team as lead by the operations manager.
Create Project plans as required using .xls format or MS Project.
Report on ECN progress and workload.
