Job Description

Company Overview: Wacoal Europe, a leading lingerie manufacturer, is seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join our team as a North American Marketing Manager. The position will focus on managing and promoting our portfolio of brands, Elomi, Fantasie, Freya, and Goddess, catering to the full-figure and fuller-bust market. Our clientele in North America includes renowned department stores as well as a network of specialty stores.

Position Summary: As the North American Marketing Manager, you will play a pivotal role in maximizing the success of our lingerie and swimwear brands in the North American market. This role requires a strategic thinker to be able to collaborate closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure that central marketing campaigns and materials are effectively adapted and leveraged for the North American market and its diverse customer base.

 

Responsibilities


  • Manage and mentor North American-based Marketing Assistant
  • Work in partnership with the North American-based Sales and Fit teams


Market Analysis:

To be the brand knowledge of the market

  • Understand our competitive landscape and where we sit within it
  • Identify trends, customer preferences, and opportunities in the North American lingerie market.
  • Understand our customers, their focus, and growth strategies for each route to market, department stores, E-tailers and independents


Strategy

Develop and implement strategic plans to drive brand awareness, market share, and revenue growth


 Brand Promotion:

•       Create and execute targeted marketing initiatives to strengthen brand presence and engage with key retailers.

•       Develop and map out a US-centric plan

•       Collaborate with the central marketing team to adapt global campaigns and materials for the North American market, ensuring cultural relevance and alignment with customer preferences.

•       Campaign focus, driving local awareness

•       Customer needs, adapting what we have to drive sell-out


Customer Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key retail partners and their Marketing teams
  • Work closely with sales teams to understand customer feedback, address concerns, and capitalize on growth opportunities.


Product Launches and Merchandising:

  • Creation and execution of a seasonal Go to Market plan to increase sell-out results
  • Collaborate with customer merchandising & marketing teams to optimize product placement and visibility in-store and online.


Budget Management:

  • Manage marketing budgets effectively, ensuring maximum return on investment for campaigns and promotional activities.


Reporting and Analysis:

  • Provide regular performance reports and insights on brand performance in the North American market.
  • Utilise data and analytics to make informed decisions and adjustments to marketing strategies.       


Qualifying Criteria

  • Someone who understands the importance of listening to our customers and the team.
  • Business-minded, consumer-centric, and have a strong strategic mindset.
  • Someone who has worked with business financials, and has demonstrated experience in helping brands grow. 
  •  A strong communicator who enjoys crafting/ optimizing business models, testing hypotheses, storytelling,

and influencing other team members. This person can speak confidently and clearly with Senior Leaders.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Marketing, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Marketing/Brand Management, ideally in the lingerie, e-commerce, retail, or fashion industry.
  • Knowledge of the North American fashion and/or lingerie market is an advantage but not essential.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strategic thinker with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • This role will be based in the UK with the central Marketing team but the ability to travel as needed to the US as required which is estimated to be quarterly is essential.
