Criminal Solicitor/Police Station Accredited Paralegal

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a criminal defence solicitor/criminal caseworker to join a large busy and highly regarded Manchester criminal practice.

The firm offers a great opportunity for the right candidate to further their career. Many of our senior staff started in junior roles many years ago.

 

The candidate will be required to commit to our 24 hour Police Station Rota. However the requirements are minimal as most of the police stations are covered by an inhouse or outsourced team of agents and there is currently a team of 7 on the Rota.

 

However should the candidate wish to increase their OTE the payments for unsociable police stations are generous and the candidate will be offered the opportunity of conducting a significant number of unsociable police stations per month.

 

Key Responsibilities: •

Managing criminal cases involving Magistrates and Crown Court files.

Attending Police Stations and providing advice

Attending Magistrates Court to represent clients

Working as part of a team in a busy practice

Maintaining relationships with clients and other stakeholders

Developing knowledge and skills in criminal law

Requirements:

Police Station Accreditation.

Experience in managing criminal cases.

Excellent communication skills.

Willingness to learn and develop.
