We are currently working in partnership with a public sector organisation based in Oxfordshire, who are looking for a newly qualified Solicitor to join the team on a permanent basis.

This will be a full-time position based predominantly from home, with 1 day per week in the office in Oxford, and a salary of £41,496 to £44,539 per annum.


The ideal candidate will have recently qualified as a Solicitor, and have some experience working within Childcare teams.


Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Delivering high quality legal advice and services to Directorates and Corporate Services
  • Drafting documents and legal agreements, to ensure that policy is formulated, and operational decisions are taken on a sound legal basis
  • Carrying a caseload of legal work, largely unsupervised, within the Childcare, and holding responsibility for completing all aspects of the task in accordance with good legal practice and client service specification
  • Undertaking legal research and preparing appropriate advice on the results of such research, including advising the council on risk and mitigations


Experience required:

  • Qualified Solicitor / CILEX Lawyer
  • Experience within local government is desirable
