Occupational Therapy Assistants
It’s an exciting time to be joining us in Brent Adult Social Care as we pursue an ambitious new transformation programme.
We are looking for passionate Occupational Therapy Assistants to join our growing Access and Information team, and support residents in our vibrant community to live independently.
This is a fantastic opportunity to progress your career in Occupational Therapy and continue your professional development through our innovative Skills Academy.
About the role
As an Occupational Therapy Assistant in Brent Adult Social Care, you’ll respond to those in need of social care support and utilise appropriate interventions. At Brent we use a strength-based approach to promote the independence, interests, and rights of our residents and their families.
Across our Adult Social Care service, we strive to deliver a culture of working together, positive risk-taking, and accountability. Our core aim is to support our residents to be influential, active members of our community.
About you
You will be passionate about working with vulnerable adults and providing an excellent service to our users.
A good understanding of relevant Adult Social Care and Housing legislation is also essential for success, and you will have the opportunity to put this into practice and develop your experience.
You will be able to work independently towards deadlines and manage situations as they change. You will have excellent communication skills and experience of working in a health or social care setting.
Skills in prioritisation, caseload management, time management, and multi-disciplinary working are also necessary.
We will provide training for an exceptional candidate who cannot demonstrate all of the above criteria.
About us
Adult Social Care is part of the Care Health and Wellbeing department, and together we have a clear focus on working together to support residents, families, and communities.
The department brings together a range of services and support. This enables us to have a clear focus on accommodation as a building block for long-term wellbeing and independence, as well as deliver genuinely multi-disciplinary working for people of any age with more complex needs.
We have strong partnerships with health organisations and work closely on a range of practical and impactful projects.
To find out more about working for Brent and our benefits package, please visit brentadultsocialcarecareers.com.
Additional information
We will be regularly reviewing applications and conducting weekly interview panels.
We are committed to safer recruitment and safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Applicants should be aware that posts working with children, young people and vulnerable adults are subject to an Enhanced DBS check as well as other employment clearances.
The information we collect from you will be shared with Cifas who will use it to prevent fraud, other unlawful or dishonest conduct, malpractice, and other seriously improper conduct. Further details of how your information will be used by us and Cifas and your data protection rights, can be found here.
As a disability confident employer Brent welcomes applications from people with all disabilities, including hidden disabilities and mental health conditions. We will interview any disabled applicant who meets the essential criteria.
