Base Location: Flexible, with a preference for key Scottish sites including Perth, Aberdeen, or Inverness. Edinburgh, Portsmouth and Reading are also possible.

Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Hybrid (1 day at the office per week)


What is the Role?

As a Senior Data Architect, you'll be responsible for designing, creating, and managing Transmission IT's data architecture. Reporting to the Lead Data Architect, this role is critical in establishing a solid foundation for data analytics and data management, ensuring that data is organized, accessible, secure, and aligned with business objectives.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and manage data domain architecture to support business activities, understanding their wider implications and long-term impact.
  • Ensure project data designs align with the solution data architecture, managing and resolving any design issues.
  • Design the structure and layout of data systems and platforms, assessing the impact of business change requests on the existing data architecture.
  • Translate high-level business requirements into data models, test data, and data quality standards.
  • Collaborate with various departments to facilitate data-driven decision-making and optimize the organization's data ecosystem.


What Do I Need?

  • Proficiency in designing and implementing modern data architectures and concepts, particularly cloud services (Azure preferred).
  • Strong capability to manage and set standards for data exchange within large-scale environments.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret strategic plans, improving data integration and quality to support business initiatives.
  • Strategic thinking and the ability to relate architectural decisions to business needs, synthesizing and clearly communicating complex information to various stakeholders.
