Crodas Consumer Care business develops innovative and sustainable ingredients that provide vital functionality to consumer care formulations, enabling customers to differentiate their products, build strong brands, meet their sustainability commitments and satisfy changing consumer requirements.

We are looking to recruit a Managing Director for EMEA Operations to authentically lead the strategic direction of manufacturing sites in line with overall business strategy and live the Croda values. Reporting to the Regional Vice President, this individual will lead the regional operations strategy and take direct responsibility for the capex, organisational culture, safety, procurement, and overall production delivery of sites in EMEA.

This is a role for a progressive and inclusive leader who can develop a high-performance working culture whilst crafting and implementing an operations strategy for the regional Consumer Care business.

Who we're looking for:

  • Prior experience in a Site / Operations leadership role within a high hazard (COMAH) manufacturing environment
  • Demonstratable track record in devising, communicating and implementing an agile manufacturing strategy
  • Excellent people leader with a background in coaching and developing a diverse, inclusive and high performing working culture
  • Prior experience of leading large capex investment projects
  • Passion for behavioural, process and operational safety within a manufacturing environment with an ability to embed safety as a value across the region
  • Strong business acumen and customer centricity with a clear understanding of how customer and market demand impact operational strategy
  • Highly collaborative and authentic leader with the ability to build strong working relationships within Crodas global network
  • Passionate about building a matured continuous improvement culture based on ideation and innovation throughout the operations organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce and execute an operational strategy covering the needs of the Consumer Care business, encompassing all areas of Operations, SHEQ and Organisational Development to build a highly efficient and high performing culture.
  • Take accountability for ensuring that Corporate safety and sustainability objectives are met at the sites whilst actively supporting the development of our SHEQ culture
  • Own and develop the specialised infrastructure and practices required to comply with the standards high hazard manufacturing
  • Build a high performing team culture where the adoption of new ideas, and challenging the status quo, bring new innovative solutions to the manufacturing organization
  • Lead the strategic capital (CAPEX) programme for investment in internal manufacturing and scale up facilities
  • Work closely with other Operations MDs across the business to optimise sharing of regional services and support
  • Set clear leadership expectations regarding talent development at the sites, ensuring such talent is fostered, coached and shared across the organisation
  • Work closely together with R&T to transfer scaled up processes onto commercial scale manufacturing assets
  • Ensure Supply and Operational Planning processes are developed to support customer specific requirements.
