Interim Marketing Director
Lords Group Trading are looking to appoint an Interim Marketing Director, initially for a 6 month period, starting in early June 2024. You will be managing an established team.
Lords was founded over 35 years ago as a family business and has grown to a business operating from 48 sites with a combined turnover in excess of £450m – a much bigger family We are principally focused on the growing Repairs, Maintenance & Improvement market. Our main clients are local tradesmen, hardware stores, plumbing and heating merchants and construction companies, that use Lords’ deep product knowledge to source and procure a wide variety of building products.

About the Role
In this position you will head the brand and marketing activity for the Merchanting Division of Lords. This will include the management of the Ecommerce function for all our brands, including all digital marketing and overseeing development. Responsibilities will include:
- Develop and spearhead marketing strategies for existing and new brands, increasing brand awareness and driving growth in sales.
- Oversee the planning, organisation and delivery of associated omni-channel marketing plans (including PR, digital advertising, email, social and SEO) by the marketing team and third-party agencies.
- Oversee the development of each brand’s ecommerce function, creating a comprehensive strategy for sales growth and managing associated development projects.
- Manage the Marketing and Ecommerce Department, supervise the team and provide guidance and professional development.
- Work with internal stakeholders across the brands, gaining input where necessary and communicating the marketing plan.
- Work with the sales team and account managers to ensure a consistent and high-quality experience at every touchpoint of the customer journey.
- Oversee a programme of regular customer and competitor research.
- Work with the buying department to develop pricing strategies and promotions to maximize profits and market share while balancing customer satisfaction.
- Manage the marketing budget and allocation of resources amongst projects.
- Implement reporting of performance and ROI

- Experience working as a Head of Marketing/Marketing Director
- Proven experience in management/building teams
- Knowledge of the retail/ecommerce market is essential
- Understanding of brand, paid media, social media and digital/demand generation marketing
