Job Description

My client is looking to hire an Energy Market Analyst in the price forecasting team. This team plays a crucial role in analysing market fundamentals and prices within energy markets, driving portfolio management strategy and long-term planning. The successful candidate will take on a range of responsibilities, including:


  • Analysing the evolution of energy market fundamentals and price dynamics, with a focus on electricity markets and short-to-medium-term horizons
  • Collaborating on the development of long-term price and fundamental scenarios to support investment decisions
  • Conducting techno-economic studies and analysis across various energy market sectors
  • Presenting quantitative market analyses through reports and pitches



Our ideal candidate will possess:


  • A Master's degree in Engineering, Statistics, Physics, Mathematics, or Economics
  • 2+ years of experience, preferably in the energy sector, with a focus on UK /European electricity markets
  • Excellent analytical and presentation skills, with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of SQL and/or programming languages such as R, Matlab, and Python (an additional plus)
