NVH Engineer – Automotive/Motorcycle

We have a new opportunity for a NVH Engineer to join a leading Motorcycle brand in their state-of-the-art Technology Centre in Leicestershire.
Role Summary
You will be joining the Development Team helping to deliver the NVH requirements, you'll play a key role working closely within the Test Team.
What you’ll be doing
- Take acoustic and vibration measurements, check the resulting data, carry out appropriate analyses and generate reports based on the findings. In order to do this, you must:
- Be conversant with NVH instrumentation types and be able to select the appropriate instrumentation for the task specified
- Be capable of fitting instrumentation to the item to be tested
- Be able to acquire, process and present data using Siemens Test Lab software and hardware.
- Conduct pass-by and other tests to ensure that motorcycles meet statutory and regulatory requirements regarding noise emissions;
- Carry out correlation testing to validate the results of CAE NVH simulations
- You may need to spend brief periods working overseas, and off-site to support testing at facilities.
What we’re looking for
- The ability to troubleshoot and innovatively problem solve to rectify NVH and other issues as appropriate
- Proven expertise in NVH development ideally within automotive or motorcycle environment
- A great communicator and team player
- Strong attention to detail, organisational and time management skills, with the ability to work to tight deadlines and to go the extra mile when necessary
- A good understanding of NVH and identifying noise and vibration issues, developing processes as well as confident working with engineering data to put forward design recommendations
- Flexible and agile approach, embracing changes that arise
Qualifications, Skills and Experience required
- Engineering Degree in relevant discipline or equivalent
- Significant powertrain NVH experience ideally within automotive or motorcycle environment
- Able to correlate test data with simulation results
- Experience with RLDA instrumentation (DC accelerometers, LVDTs, strain gauges, rugged loggers )
- CAE correlation for modal response, transfer path analysis and acoustic transmission loss
- Awareness of Python with some basic level of programming is preferred
- An awareness of acquiring and checking Road-Load data
