We have a uniquely community-led and customer-first approach to creating and managing high-usage, design-led and fully funded-EV charging solutions that add value to your organisation or site. Extra revenue, additional footfall, and competitor differentiation to name but a few Not only do we design, fund, build and operate our site partners' charging solutions, but we provide ongoing maintenance and support to evolve and futureproof the solution over time.


We pride ourselves on putting the right chargers in the right places (leveraging state-of-the-art tech to assist with site selection), and in the success of our modular Charging Hub and Charging Green offerings. But most importantly we make sure the chargers work - our network currently has a 99.6% uptime/ availability record.

About the role:


We are seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our executive team, committed to delivering precise and timely financial reports, and offering strategic analysis and support to senior leadership. This crucial role involves overseeing all financial activities, including accounting and tax compliance, ensuring the accuracy of VAT filings, and working closely with our external auditors. Additionally, the CFO will have the opportunity to drive the enhancement of our financial processes and systems, aligning them with the dynamic needs and growth of our business.


Financial Management: The CFO will oversee all financial functions, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal/external reporting, ensuring they are conducted with precision and transparency. Utilising the existing Finance Director, The CFO will have ultimate responsibility for building and maintaining an appropriate system of financial processes and controls.


Leadership and Development: Assemble and mentor a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement. The CFO will be instrumental in enhancing the team's operational maturity and effectiveness, ensuring they are equipped to support the company's growth trajectory

Business Management: Responsible, as part of the senior leadership team, for setting the direction of the business and making strategic decisions. The CFO will champion the financial conscience of the business but is able to balance company-wide requirements in a fast-paced growth environment.


Hands on: Adept at moving between the detail and high-level in what is still a scale-up environment. The CFO will be comfortable to directly engage with customers, suppliers and colleagues in internal and external initiatives to drive customer utilisation.

Robust Communication: Able to confidently communicate well-considered and data-driven arguments to an experienced and driven senior leadership team with the emotional intelligence to foster and manage relationships in a fast-paced environment.


Intelligent influence: Experience of creating and effectively sharing important and potentially complex financial data in an impactful and understandable way both visually and inter-personally.


Stakeholder Management: Principal point of contact with equity and debt stakeholders, working to ensure all reporting is robust, accurate, timely and relevant. Gravitas to engage with institutions instilling confidence in the CFO, the Finance Department and the business as a whole.


Experience:


  • Proven experience as an FD/CFO
  • Demonstrable success in building and leading finance teams, ideally from scratch, with a track record of enhancing team maturity and operational effectiveness.
  • Experience in raising VC and debt capital, with an understanding of financial covenants and investor reporting
  • Experience of improvement of internal and external reporting, providing colleagues with meaningful and insightful analyses and investors with appropriate information
  • Experience in creating business intelligence initiatives and using data visualisation tools
  • Exceptional analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills, coupled with strong business acumen.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
