Operations Manager


Founded in 2018, Laz Partners is a boutique executive search firm that specializes in placing front-office investment talent into some of the world’s top hedge funds, asset managers, and sell-side institutions. We focus on mid-to-senior-level searches, primarily within portfolio management, trading and quant/research across macro, fixed income, equities and private debt.


As the Operations Manager at Laz Partners, you will be instrumental in driving the company's growth by optimizing operational efficiency and executing a marketing strategy. Building upon our strong operational foundations, you will drive initiatives to enhance productivity and further streamline our processes. Additionally, you will play an important role in developing and implementing marketing campaigns to elevate our brand presence and drive engagement.

This important role will serve as a core pillar of Laz Partners that will enable us to scale effectively and in an organized manner, while ensuring consistency of core business processes, ranging from how we onboard new recruiters/joiners to how we track KPIs & Metrics across the business, as well as how we ensure consistency in the data that we gather from clients and candidates that we speak with.


In this role, you will be responsible for helping improve and build out a range of processes for the business as we expand, while also learning all about how the business operates (including becoming an advanced user of the CRM we use) and helping us do everything better. There will also be some elements of admin/office management during the early days of the role until we further expand, however we can eventually see this role being shaped into a COO/Head of Operations role once the business has grown further and we are 10+ headcount (currently 7).

· Founded in 2018 by Alex Lazaridis, who has nearly a decade of experience in working closely with hedge funds and other buy-side clients (before becoming a recruiter, Alex used to work in Institutional Sales, covering Hedge Funds and Asset Managers)

· We currently work with approximately 35 clients, including hedge funds, asset managers, and private wealth managers

·  Average deal value of approximately £35,000

· Most placements are mid-level to senior in nature (including CIO level)


Key Responsibilities:

Responsibilities: 

HR Management: Oversee HR functions, including managing employee leave, contracts, benefits, and maintaining HR records in a small business environment. Help to arrange group activities and review ongoing incentive plans

Finance Support: Take ownership of credit control spreadsheets, invoicing clients, and collaborating with accountants to provide necessary financial information. 

Marketing: Utilize our recent branding initiatives to propel marketing efforts forward and contribute to marketing strategy execution. 

Data/CRM and Metrics: Monitor team metrics, compile analytics and data regularly, and provide support to the in-house data and analytics team as required. 

Tools and Tech Stack Management: Manage relationships with suppliers, oversee contracts, and ensure adherence to timelines, while negotiating best prices and licensing deals. Work with our cyber security firm to ensure company cyber guidelines and policies are met.  

Brand Ambassadorship: Serve as a brand ambassador within the business and attend various events and roundtables with other operations professionals from the industry

Ad Hoc Operations Support: Work alongside the Founder and the team on any additional operational tasks as needed. 


Qualifications:

· Experience: Ideally 3-5 years’ experience in an operations (or similar) role in another recruitment business, although any exceptional candidates that are recent graduates (possibly with a business degree and some internship experience) might also be considered

· Excellent attention to detail

· Some knowledge of financial markets (such as basic terminology like equities, fixed income, FX) would be a big plus

· Strong written & verbal communication skills

· Must be able to carry out projects with deadlines, as well as priotize different projects

· Clear and concise communicator, excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Hard working, proactive, creative and not afraid to challenge views and ideas

·  Good at time management and prioritizing tasks

· Hungry to learn and grow. Interested in personal development & career progression

· Strong experience with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Suite of products and overall quite good with technology and picking up new concepts (as lot of the role will involve building performance dashboards etc)
