Fortice is partnering with a growing IT business that designs bespoke Network and Systems solutions for Government and Defence clients. Based in Horsham, our client offers a remote-first approach. They are currently expanding their Infrastructure teams for a secure defence project in Corsham. As part of this expansion, they are recruiting a team of Infrastructure Engineers to deliver modern on-premise multi-tenanted cloud hosting platforms and edge-based deployed data processing environments. This role requires travel to Corsham one day a week, with four days working from home.
Key Responsibilities
- Enhance and provide new services to monitor existing private cloud multi-tenant hosting capabilities at multiple classifications.
- Provide operational level tooling and monitoring capabilities to enhance and improve service operations and tenant experience as well as provide enhanced support and alerting to internal and external infrastructure teams, service providers and tenants.
- VMware Log and network insight - design, deploy, troubleshoot and manage to a 3rd line level.
- Deployment and management of Splunk with an application monitoring and alerting use case, also within a tenant specific application monitoring context.
- Experience in reviewing existing monitoring services, providing guidance on enhancing current services.
Technical Competencies:
- Experience of digital project delivery into the MOD and/or central UK Government clients.
- Exposure to highly secure / operational / mission critical environments.
- Must have operational experience in a production setting with VMWare Cloud Foundation operations, including: VMware Aria Operations and VMware Aria Operations for Logs.
- Experience with Splunk, ideally including log forwarding to a central service provider.
- Experience with security tooling such as Nessus.
- Additionally, it would desirable to have experience with: Aria Automation (formally VRA), Grafana & Prometheus.
- Foundation level knowledge or awareness of IT Service Management (ITIL Best Practice)
- Experience and knowledge of VMWare and COTS hardware/software including MS Server and Linux operating systems.
- Cyber security within IT environments, ideally with MoD and secure environments
Due to the sensitive nature of this work, we're only accepting applicants who hold an active SC clearance, and are eligible to obtain DV clearance.
