Reporting to the Senior Interface Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the successful integration of all architectural fit-out elements within the project, maintaining alignment with the dynamic Clause 32 programme under the NEC4 Option F contract. This role is ideal for a professional with a strong background in civil and mechanical engineering, as well as architecture, with proven experience in construction delivery within a Tier 1 or 2 principal contractor environment.

Duties

  • Coordinate and manage interfaces between various engineering and fit-out/architectural disciplines, including civil engineering, structural steel, lifts and escalators, MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Public Health), and all fit-out trades.
  • Work closely with the design, construction, and fit-out teams to ensure that all architectural and engineering interfaces are identified, planned, and effectively managed.
  • Proactively address interface-related issues, resolving clashes and conflicts that may impact the programme or quality of the work.
  • Maintain Interface Register tracking Fit Out specific interfaces
  • Provide technical oversight across a wide spectrum of trades, including civil engineering, structural steelwork, glazing, cladding, architectural metalwork, partitions, fire stopping, flooring, and more.
  • Support Fit Out SPM’s, PM’s and APM’s as the primary point of contact for interface-related matters within the Architectural Fit-Out team, liaising with internal and external stakeholders, including designers, contractors, and client representatives.

Person Specification

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline. A Master’s degree is advantageous.
  • Experience in engineering or architectural roles, with a significant portion spent on large-scale infrastructure projects. Previous experience in construction delivery within a Tier 1 or Tier 2 principal contractor environment is essential
  • Strong knowledge of civil engineering, structural steel, architectural fit-out trades, and MEP systems.
  • Comprehensive understanding of architectural design, detailing, and integration with engineering systems.
  • Experience managing and delivering complex projects with high-quality architectural finishes and technical requirements.
  • Familiarity with NEC4 contracts, specifically Option F, and experience working within the constraints of a dynamic Clause 32 programme.
