An Opportunity for an IT Technician at Silicone Engineering

We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as an IT Technician. This role offers the chance to work closely with our experienced IT Manager, providing support across desktop, server, and network operations.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

Organisational Duties:

  • Act as a liaison between company employees and the IT Manager for all IT-related matters.
  • Deliver first-line IT support for our office and factory, including PC/Printer troubleshooting, logon issues, and phone system and maintain IT helpdesk.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues for our on-premise phone system.
  • Follow schedules and work instructions provided by the IT Manager, and communicate any concerns or suggestions.
  • Perform administrative tasks within the IT Department.
  • Contribute to the departments performance through punctuality, efficiency, and accuracy.

Functional Duties:

  • Assist in identifying and implementing technical IT solutions across the company.
  • Ensure all IT-related work adheres to company guidelines and best practices.
  • Understand and comply with company Health and Safety guidelines, and communicate any IT-related concerns or suggestions to the IT Manager.
  • Carry out general housekeeping and maintenance activities, both physically and from an IT perspective.

Essential Requirements:

  • A relevant IT qualification (e.g., NVQ, CompTIA, MCP, Apprenticeship) is desirable.
  • GCSEs or equivalent in English and Maths.
  • Good standard of oral, written, and ICT skills.
  • Professional attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to adhere to company procedures.
  • Personable and adaptable approach.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
