We are seeking an experienced M&E (Mechanical & Electrical) Commissioning Manager to join one of our tier 1 clients team and manage the commissioning processes for various high-profile projects across London. As the M&E Commissioning Manager, you will oversee all commissioning activities, ensuring that M&E systems are delivered to the highest standards, in line with client specifications, industry standards, and project timelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Management:
  • Lead and manage the commissioning activities across multiple projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Develop and implement commissioning plans, schedules, and strategies in collaboration with project teams, clients, and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with design teams, contractors, and suppliers to ensure all M&E systems are fully integrated and functionally tested.
  • Technical Expertise:
  • Provide technical leadership and support in the commissioning of M&E systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
  • Review and approve commissioning documentation, including method statements, testing procedures, and operation & maintenance manuals.
  • Identify and resolve any technical issues during the commissioning process, ensuring systems are installed and functioning as per design intent.
  • Quality Assurance:
  • Ensure all commissioning activities comply with relevant industry standards, regulations, and client requirements.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits to monitor progress and ensure adherence to quality and safety protocols.
  • Manage the handover process, ensuring all necessary documentation, certifications, and training are provided to the client.
  • Stakeholder Management:
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, and other stakeholders to provide updates on commissioning progress, address concerns, and ensure expectations are met.
  • Facilitate regular commissioning meetings, providing clear communication and documentation of actions and decisions.
  • Risk Management:
  • Identify potential risks and challenges during the commissioning process, developing and implementing mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure that any changes or variations are documented, communicated, and approved by relevant parties.
  • Team Leadership:
  • Lead and mentor a team of commissioning engineers, ensuring they have the necessary skills, knowledge, and support to perform their roles effectively.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive working environment, promoting continuous improvement and professional development.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Professional accreditation (e.g., CEng, MCIBSE, MIET) is desirable.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in M&E commissioning,
  • Proven track record of delivering complex M&E commissioning projects, ideally within the construction or infrastructure sectors.
  • Experience working with Tier 1 clients on large-scale projects in London or similar metropolitan areas.
  • Skills and Competencies:
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • In-depth knowledge of M&E systems, commissioning processes, and industry standards.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficiency in commissioning management software and tools.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
