About the role:
The Solicitor responsible for all legal matters relating to Housing on behalf of the Council. To provide legal support and advice to the Council's Housing Service.
To ensure that robust and effective legal advice is provided and to represent the Council in legal and quasi-legal proceedings, either through advocacy in Courts, Tribunals, Inquiries and Hearings or in negotiations, and generally in its relations with outside bodies and the public.

What you will do:
- To undertake, provide and assist in the legal and quasi-legal work provided to Housing Services.
- To represent the Council in legal and quasi-legal proceedings, in negotiations, and generally in its relations with outside bodies and the public.
- To provide legal advice to the Housing Service on the following:
- landlord and tenant law,
- statutory duty of care,
- homelessness,
- the acquisition and disposal of property and the development of housing policy and process
- advice in respect to specific letters, disputes or other matters
- detailed advice on complex cases including possible attendance at court
- advice on leaseholder agreements, consultation and sale covenants
