Our client is a well-established, dynamic and highly profitable supplier of technology products and services to an impressive, international customer base.


They seek to appoint a new, Senior & experienced, Satellite Engineer to the Team. This is an exciting new opportunity that has been created due to their ongoing growth. The role will be varied and will suit someone who likes to be busy and is able to multitask.


About the role:

Reporting to the Engineering Manager you will use your extensive experience to design and develop highly secure communication solutions for a demanding international customer base.


You should be a qualified senior satellite engineer having worked in both Defence and Commercial satellite positions, experienced with networks, ground stations and routing of data. You will also have experience and expertise on VSAT terminals of varying size, band and network, to include WGS, X, Ka, Ku and L Band.


In addition, you will have extensive knowledge of integrating RF systems over Satcom and utilising baseband over IP networks.


You will have proven communications experience, adept at high-level engagement with other Satellite engineers in Industry, with a proven ability to resolve issues.


You should be willing and able to draft technical documents and responses and to input into technical proposals.


Requirements:

  • Customer service and/or Network Operation experience.
  • VSAT operational, service or technical experience.
  • Practical experience of IP networking.
  • Ability to diagnose complex faults, document, communicate and follow up corrective actions.
  • An expert understanding of satellite communications (RF/VSAT/GEO/LEO).

Desirable:

  • iDirect IOM accreditation
  • CCNP
  • Global VSAT Forum (GVF) accreditation.
  • Member of recognised technical or professional body.


The position to be Head Office based, in Hereford.
