You will be working in a small friendly office and supporting the sales team with all administration duties whilst having responsibility for customer accounts and supporting the Operations Director with different functions across the business.
There are elements of this role that will be client facing, so you must be confident with speaking to customers on the phone, on email and face to face. The suitable candidate will have a technical background, either in a similar sales administrator role or a graduate with a technical/ engineering degree.
There is progression available, with the majority of long-serving team members having started in support functions.
This is an office based role, where you will be expected to be in the office Monday - Friday.
Responsibilities & day to day duties
As a Technical Administrator you will be responsible for:
Handle daily administrative tasks to support the sales team.
Managing customer accounts and maintaining excellent customer service at all times
Generate and process sales orders accurately and efficiently.
Prepare and send technical quotations to customers, addressing enquiries and providing necessary information.
Prepare and present reports for the sales team and customers
Interact with customers and suppliers, building relationships and addressing any issues or concerns.
Skills & experience required.
A precision optical, photonics or a technical/engineering background – either in a similar sales administration role or a recent graduate
Understanding of Engineering Tolerances would be beneficial
CAD/Drawing experience – ability to understand technical drawings
Experience of communicating with customers by telephone or face to face
Confident speaking with clients
Ability to be proactive and use initiative
Computer literate - A very good knowledge of MS Word/Excel and Outlook.
A good knowledge of
Sage would be advantageous
Driving License – to be able to visit clients
