We are looking for a new colleague for our UK R&D site at MIRA for the following junior position:

MECHATRONICS TESTING TECHNICIAN (FIXED TERM CONTRACT)

who will be responsible to perform mechanical and electronics testing per test orders and assist in the preparation of reports.

This is initially for a period of 6 months. You will be directly employed by the company, not a self employed contractor.


Just a few of the tasks you will meet during your daily work:

  • Perform mechanical and electronics testing activities per test order, results are reviewed with Test Engineers
  • Able to support Engineers to prepare detailed engineering reports through compilation of test data.
  • Work with Test Engineers to resolve current model/production issues by conducting desired tests.
  • Support the construction of component / system test rigs / equipment to fulfil legislative / customer requirements.
  • Assist in procurement of materials and components for test equipment, rigs, etc.
  • Participate and provide guidance for development of new technologies, techniques, processes and conduct benchmark testing of products for current / future innovations.



We think that to be successful in this position you need:

  • HND or equivalent in Engineering discipline
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Microsoft Project Software tools
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and component inspection methods.
  • Experience in use of general-purpose mechanical laboratory test equipment, preventative maintenance, and calibration methods.
  • Use of computer-controlled data acquisition equipment would be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of pneumatic systems as they apply to truck and heavy trailers would be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of IATF16494 / ISO 9001 / ISO 4001/ APQP.
