We are looking for a dedicated, passionate and skilledRecovery Workers to join the team at our brand new Ashford-basedRecovery House. This residential service consists of 5 roomsand provides up to 5 days support for individuals with enduringmental health needs, who are in crisis.
Duringtheir stay, service users benefit from a safe and therapeuticenvironment, which includes quiet spaces, spaces tosocialise, and spaces where people can access a sensoryenvironment and activities. Our person centred approach meansservice users are supported to engage and lead in a process, whichinvolves personalised support assessment, planning and review. Theaim is to assess and support the on-going needs of our serviceusers to build on their existing skills, support them to learn newones, to develop effective coping mechanisms and buildconfidence to manage their mental health and to staywell.
Role ResponsibilityYouwill provide recovery focused support to service users inaccordance with their support plans. You will have well-honedskills in positive communication, engagement, and will be able todemonstrate unconditional positive regard for serviceusers.
You will have the maturity to work withina positive framework supporting clients. You will have the abilityto deliver services and interventions in a person centred,non-judgmental manner, and recovery-based way.
You will work alongside members of the service user’scircle of support, to enable individuals to be happy, healthy, andsuccessful in achieving their life goals.
Yourtypical duties will include:
- providing support and guidance toservice users
- supporting service userswith their medication
- daily record keeping andincident report writing
- help with inductingnew staff members
- upholding the cleanliness ofthe service to adhere to infection prevention controlmeasures
You will be required towork in a flexible manner on a roster basis including office hours,evenings, some weekends and sleep-ins.
Two ofthese posts are for dedicated night Recovery Workers. Anintegral part of the team, these two individuals - althoughprimarily lone workers - will be supported in this role by a sitebased sleep-in colleague, who can be called on in an emergency.Although night workers will be required to work some weekends, theywill not be required to cover other rota shifts.
The Ideal CandidatePreviousexperience in the mental health sector is desirable but notessential. What is important is that you have a genuine desireto support individuals in their recovery and have a can-doattitude.
We need compassionate, proactive andprofessional individuals who are highly motivated, hardworking andkeen to support service users with mental health and complex careneeds. You also need to have the ability to support people who areexperiencing a crisis.
You will have thematurity to work within a positive framework supporting clients.You will have the ability to deliver services and interventions ina person centred, non-judgmental manner, and recovery-basedway.
Being a good communicator isessential, to be able to get on with people of all ages and fromall backgrounds, and you will also be liaising with otherprofessionals.
