As an IT Project Engineer, you'll play a vital role in managing and executing IT infrastructure and cloud-based projects for their esteemed clients.
Here's what you can expect:
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Specification and Implementation:
Gather client requirements and create technical specifications and project plans.
Design, configure, and implement network, server, storage, security, and cloud solutions.
Collaborate with internal technical teams for seamless implementation.
Configuration of IT Infrastructure:
Configure and optimise IT components such as routers, switches, servers, and storage devices.
Install and configure operating systems, applications, and software updates.
Manage virtualisation environments like Hyper-V and Azure Virtual Desktop.
Understanding and Documenting Existing IT Infrastructure:
Assess and document clients' existing IT infrastructure.
Analyse findings and identify improvement areas to enhance performance and security.
Improvement Planning:
Develop improvement plans and roadmaps based on client objectives.
Recommend upgrades, migrations, and optimisations for better performance and scalability.
Project Management:
Ensure timely project delivery within scope, budget, and quality requirements.
Provide technical expertise, resource planning, and status updates to stakeholders.
Resolve technical issues during project execution.
Accreditations:
Assist clients in achieving Cyber Essentials accreditation.
Liaise with clients to address vulnerabilities and risks identified during assessments.
Helpdesk Support:
Provide level 3 technical support to clients remotely and onsite.
Resolve complex technical issues and mentor helpdesk staff.
Prerequisites:
Strong technical knowledge in networking, servers, storage, virtualization, and security.
Proven experience in managing IT infrastructure projects.
Ability to assess existing infrastructure and develop improvement plans.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Relevant certifications such as MCSE, CCNP, VCP are desirable.
Strong customer service orientation.
