The Role
Do you possess previous experience diagnosing and managing repairs of residential properties? Can you manage repairs effectively, keeping costs in check whilst ensuring tenant satisfaction? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you.
As a Repairs Surveyor at Harrogate Housing Association, you'll be pivotal in providing exemplary property management services that align with our ethos: Local, Approachable, and Tenant Focussed. Your mission will be to efficiently oversee the execution of repairs, ensuring they are both economically viable and up to the exceptional standards our tenants deserve.

Key Responsibilities:
Conduct bi-annual property inspections, documenting their condition and planning future maintenance needs.
Manage a team of contractors to deliver property maintenance plans, including major works like kitchen and bathroom replacements.
Ensure properties comply with current legislation, including the Decent Homes Standard and EPC targets.
Take a proactive approach to damp and mould issues, achieving positive outcomes for tenants.
Manage void properties to minimise vacancy periods and ensure they are ready for new tenants.
Oversee neighbourhood service contracts, ensuring value for money and high standards.
Work effectively with colleagues to deliver exceptional tenant service.
The role demands you to be adaptable and open to change, as well as do any additional activities within the scope of the function that may be assigned to you from time to time.
The Association
We are a small, but expanding, housing association who only operate in the Harrogate District. We offer homes for rent and on a shared ownership basis.
With a personal, local service we want to help our tenants create homes near family and work.
The Benefits
Holiday entitlement is 25 days plus 8 statutory, holiday increases after 5 years' service to an additional 2days and 3 days after 10 years' service.
A contributory pension up to 10%.
The Person
HNC/HND Building or Construction.
An understanding and experience of diagnosing and managing repairs to residential property.
Experience and track record of managing external contractors.
An understanding of the Asset Management process/planning/surveying/component accounting.
Experience of undertaking administrative tasks to a high level of accuracy and quality.
Good knowledge of computerised systems, ideally obtained in a housing association setting, and financial modelling.
Knowledge of procurement processes and legal framework in which to operate.
HHSRS knowledge and understanding and its practical application.
Excellent interpersonal skills, demonstrates empathy and is effective at managing relationships.
Has an enthusiastic and positive drive to achieve results.
