KURY UK Ltd is part ofan international company, Kury Groupe, 100% dedicated to the nuclear field with 23 years of experience in nuclear engineering.

Since then, we have been working with EDF (French Electricity Producer). We are involved in several nuclear projects, including FA3 EPR (France), the French fleet, Taishan EPR (China), Hinkley Point C and Sizewell C.

THE ROLE

As Technical Lead for Auxiliary Boilers Design and Procurement contract, you will be in charge of the following activities:

  • The Technical and engineering preparation as well as bid evaluation,
  • Support Contract Engineering Lead activities.

Your main activities will include:

  • The Technical Pack issuance for Invitation To Tender (ITT): Technical memorandum, Technical Cover Note (TCN), including the List of Documents Required from the Contractor (LDRC).
  • The activities related to the Tender Process: Support to Technical Assessment Plan, Support to Readiness review, Support to workshops and presentations, Technical clarification assessment, Technical Assessment Report (TAR), Technical Cover Note (TCN) for Signature of the Contract (SoC), Preparation of Surveillance Plan.

You will also provide technical support to the project on the following activities:

  • Conventional Island - Balance Of Plant building pilots and contracts technical support, process related topics to support project delivery in quality and time,
  • Production of technical specifications or deliverables, Technical review of supplier documentation,
  • Coordination of Technical and Engineering topics.

You will be mainly in interface with the following teams:

  • Piping and Equipment,
  • Other Contract Engineering Leads and Technical Leads of the Conventional Island - Balance Of Plant project delivery organisation,
  • Other members of the corresponding building team (HVAC, Electrical, Piping, Layout, Building Manager…),
  • Client organisation,
  • Client Design Delivery Branch.

Regarding your scope, your main accountabilities will be the following ones:

  • The production of technical pack fit for ITT (integrating previous lessons learnt on the scope).
  • The coordination of the activities during all the tendering phase (clarification meeting, bid assessment and surveillance of the contract).
  • Organise and lead regular progress and technical meetings with the contractor.
  • Report internally with the client to communicate progress, risks, issues and planning to support contract delivery Management, tracking of design risks, leading on the preparation and assessment of early warnings and variations.
  • The management of interface with the contractor, the client and all other stakeholders (internal and external) to ensure the successful delivery of the contract aligned with the overall engineering schedule and technical specification.
  • The coordination of overall Configuration Management activities: Contract Transfer Sheets (CTS’s), Design Modifications (UKDCs) and Referential Evolution Requests (RER) preparation as required.
  • The organisation, coordination and monitoring of the surveillance activities (drafting of the Surveillance Programme Organisation Note and the Annual Surveillance Report).
  • The surveillance of contract documentation.
  • Plan and contribution to the resolution of technical problems and queries.

This experience will give you the opportunity to move on to other types of equipment or projects in the medium term: you will tackle varied but complementary projects, studies and technical topics. Your understanding of the technical and environmental challenges will allow you to take on complex and critical transversal studies.

REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • Knowledge and experienced in auxiliary boiler system process.
  • Experience working on an EPR project, operating nuclear power plant or on an industrial site.
  • Relevant experience in Contract management, documentary surveillance and Project management.
  • Understanding of Equipment interfaces (pipework, supports, fluids, safety case, systems engineering).
  • Knowledge and understanding of relevant Health and Safety regulations.
  • Knowledge of equipment contracts in the nuclear sector or other heavily regulated industry.
  • Knowledge and understanding of engineering design sequences.
  • Good organisational skills, ability to effectively manage own workload in order to meet commitments and respect deadlines.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work in a team and to deal with multiple interfaces.
  • Leadership, proactive and able to take initiative.
  • French-speaking and reading would be an advantage.
