Role Overview:

As a Science Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Science department, assisting teachers in delivering engaging practical lessons and ensuring the smooth running of laboratory facilities.
You will be responsible for preparing equipment, materials, and resources for experiments, as well as maintaining laboratory safety standards to create a conducive learning environment for students.

Key Responsibilities:

Setting up and dismantling laboratory equipment and apparatus for practical lessons.
Preparing chemicals, solutions, and specimens as required for experiments.
Ensuring all equipment and materials are stored safely and securely when not in use.
Conducting regular checks and maintenance of laboratory equipment to ensure functionality and safety compliance.
Assisting teaching staff during practical lessons, providing technical support and guidance to students as needed.
Collaborating with the Science department to develop and enhance practical resources and experiments.

Requirements:

Previous experience as a Science Technician in a school or educational setting is essential.
Strong organisational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively within a team.
A passion for science education and supporting students' learning journey.
