We are currently recruiting for an Assistant General Manager position in our beautiful Dockland Grade 2 Listed Warehouse venue.

Based in E16 in the shadow of the iconic ExCel Centre, we are looking to to recruit someone into the team to support the General Manager in the consistent smooth running of all aspects of the business.

With fantastic transport links to the Elizabeth Line and DLR with additional free parking available - we're super easy to get to.

Assistant GeneralManager Role

As the Assistant General Manager, you will play a crucial role in the day-to-day running of the venue. Youll work closely with the General Manager to lead our dedicated team, ensuring that all aspects of the business run smoothly. Your responsibilities will include staff management, overseeing the bar operations, maintaining high service standards, and ensuring our guest have an outstanding experience every time they visit.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the overall management of the venue, including day-to-day operations and long-term strategy.
  • Lead and motivate the team, ensuring high levels of guest service and satisfaction.
  • Manage the bar operations, including stock control, ordering, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
  • Oversee staff training, scheduling, and performance management.
  • Maintain a strong presence on the floor, engaging with guests and handling any issues as they arise.
  • Support the General Manager in achieving financial targets and managing budgets.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

  • Strong experience in bar management and operations, ideally within a pub setting.
  • Extensive knowledge of wines and the ability to confidently recommend and discuss wine with customers.
  • A passion for hospitality and creating memorable experiences for customers.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards.
  • "Wear your heart on your sleeve", take ownership, be bold and approach the business as if were your own.
  • Be cool, calm and collected, approachable and manage pressure well.
  • Clear communication and precise organisational skills.
  • Passionate about people, training, mentoring, guiding a team, but most importantly - loves to have fun.
