Salary                              Pro-rata up to £45K Dependent on skills and experience

Hours                              2.5 days per week

Reporting to                 CEO and to the Chair directly on matters relating to the Board

Summary

The overall purpose of this role is:

·      To ensure that SHAL has robust Governance and evidence of assurance of compliance with all regulatory, legal and best practice requirements.

·      To provide a Governance & Company Secretarial function ensuring legal and regulatory compliance and supporting the Board in the delivery of their governance oversight.

·      To deliver a Secretariat function including support and advice to Board members, ensuring that they have access to the information, learning and resources needed to enable them to operate effectively.

·      To work with the CEO and support them to work well as part of the Governance structure and an Executive member of the Board. 


What you'll bring

Essential

·      Knowledge of the duties, responsibilities and attributes of a Company Secretary

·      General Knowledge of non-financial internal control structures

·      Knowledge of Risk Management

·      Experience of working with or at Board level

·      Good administrative skills

·      Methodical, attention to detail, thorough and able to prioritise and organise own and

·      others’ work with little supervision

·      Able to use and manage data and create reports with clear recommendations using

·      relevant software

·      Ability to work well with others

·      Flexible and open to change

·      Patient and calm in stressful situations

·      Excellent written and verbal communication skills


Desirable

·      Relevant qualifications e.g. university, college, apprenticeship or professional body

·      Knowledge of the sector and the regulatory and governance structures within it


Other

·      Some evening work related to board, AGM and stakeholder meeting
