Location: Addenbrooke's Hospital, Cambridge

We are seeking a highly skilled Operations Manager to oversee the Domestic Services team at Addenbrooke's Hospital. Our ideal candidate will have experience in Soft / Hard Facilities Management services preferably within a Domestic / Cleaning space, however this is not essential.

The successful candidate will manage a highly trained team to deliver an efficient, profitable, and customer-focused domestic service, ensuring compliance with contractual terms and company policies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Understand and deliver all contractual terms for domestic services.
  • Communicate on-site client changes to the line manager.
  • Maintain regular communication with the client as agreed.
  • Complete action plans following client satisfaction surveys.
  • Act as a Compass Advocate always, promoting the unit.
  • Ensure client satisfaction and address any issues promptly.
  • Foster strong client relationships to recommend Compass as a preferred supplier.
  • Identify additional opportunities within the contract and discuss with the line manager.
  • Analyse and manage unit costs related to domestic services.
  • Ensure full purchasing compliance for chemicals, equipment, and consumables.
  • Accurately input and maintain cost and sales records for domestic services.
  • Complete labour schedules within budget.
  • Minimize agency and overtime spend.
  • Use healthcare best practices to achieve efficient labour levels.
  • Redeploy workforce to other sites to reduce agency and overtime costs.
  • Communicate site and company targets to the domestic team.
  • Train, coach, and develop the team, empowering supervisors to lead effectively.
  • Monitor labour turnover and ensure full recruitment.
  • Support succession planning and ensure adherence to all H&S and FS policies.
  • Ensure team members are fully aware of their roles and can successfully carry out tasks.

Qualifications and Experience:
  • Previous experience within Hard / Soft FM Services is desirable although not essential.
  • Previous Experience within Cleaning / Domestic Services preferably within a hospital environment is desirable but not essential.
  • Proven management experience preferably within a healthcare environment.
  • Managing teams to deliver innovative, high-quality Cleaning service
  • Being obsessive about providing great customer service
  • Sound knowledge of procedural and legislative frameworks
  • Sound financial acumen and experienced in managing budgets and growing sales
