The Sir Robert Peel, Stockport, is a lovely, traditional looking pub which is both a popular and well-known community drinking pub. It sits on a corner plot along the high street in the centre of the main shopping area of Edgley. It’s a welcoming daytime bar great for live TV sports and after works drinking spot and is also known for entertainment. The Robert Peel really comes into its own when Stockport County are playing, and there’s a vibrant buzz to the place as supporters flood in.
Business Facilities
The pub offers a spacious, main trading area. When entering through the front door, to the left there is fixed seating and a small raised area for the DJ/entertainer which is a supported by the lighting rig. There is also a Pool table and dart board, as well as the community board. To the right, the pub offers fixed and low loose furniture and the bar. At the rear of the pub you will find toilet facilities, plus easy access to the beer garden. A path leads out to the rear exit from the beer garden with additional seating and a smoking solution. As a town centre pub the pub does not include a car park.
Its great for TV viewing – six screens feature BT and Sky Sports as well as the racing news.

The domestic accommodation consists of three bedrooms, a kitchen and a lounge.
The local area
Edgeley sits just outside Stockport, just ten minutes walk from the centre of town. It’s set within a vibrant little community, which includes a variety of small and medium-sized businesses as well as residential housing. A large residential estate to the rear of the pub is a great source of trade for the Robert Peel. The pub is set on a busy high street and is within easy reach of the business and commercial areas of Stockport, and within five minutes of the train station. Stockport has plenty of excellent shopping, parks and leisure facilities, and its famous viaduct was immortalised by LS Lowry. The stunning Peaks are also right on the doorstep, as are the pretty villages of rural Cheshire.
