Job Title: Lab Technician I
The information below covers the role requirements, expected candidate experience, and accompanying qualifications.
To provide technical assistance to engineers in the laboratory, by performing routine laboratory experiments, operating laboratory equipment, testing samples and products, and collecting test data. To document and maintain records.
- Safety
- Work safely in line with behavioural safety principles.
- Compliance with PPE requirements.
- Spot potential hazards and report promptly to supervisor.
- Attend all mandatory safety training.
- Laboratory
- To undertake testing using standard and specialised laboratory equipment to defined procedures.
- Assisting engineers in developing and defining tests and procedures required for new projects.
- To complete all relevant documentation.
- To communicate effectively with other departments e.g. test results.
- Learn departments processes, procedures and equipment and apply this learning consistently.
- Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of quality systems.
- Previous medical R&D environment would be an advantage.
- Communicate well with people at all levels.
- Good team worker.
- Able to work independently.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Basic IT skills e.g., MS Word, Excel.
- Works well in a changing and dynamic environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and follows instructions precisely.
- Preferably 6 to 12 months experience of working in a R&D Laboratory environment.
